Over the last decade, dynamic Native-led organizations and businesses have blossomed across Indian Country. Investing in Native communities, ripe for those looking for impact with a sustainability, social equity, or place-based lens, provide unique opportunities for creative and catalytic capital. Despite the increase in opportunity, too many potential investment partners lack connectivity and contextual knowledge to build right relationships with Tribes and Native-led organizations and enterprises.
The Native Advisory Council at Confluence Philanthropy invites you to share our journey as we seek to build bridges, deepen understanding, and foster right relationships between values-aligned investors and Indian Country.
Hosted by the Empire Health Foundation and their regional partners, Confluence is organizing an invitation-only Native Investing Retreat on October 4-6, 2023, in Spokane, Washington. This multi-day convening will bring together investors and Native partners in a cross-learning environment that will include optional learning visits with local communities. Through highlighting regional projects, we will learn about investing with respect for sovereignty, how reclaiming culture and identify is woven into the investment context, and how investors can approach supporting different types and stages of Native-led organizations or projects (e.g., nonprofits, Tribal government, etc.).
